The latest Glasgow eatery is now open! After the success of the popular Indian Street Food Restaurant in Edinburgh they have decided to open their doors in Glasgow.
Tuk Tuk, Edinburgh’s bold and vibrant Indian street food restaurant launched its second site in Glasgow at the start of January. Following the success of its Edinburgh, Tollcross restaurant, Tuk Tuk will bring its unique brand of Indian street food to Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street. Named after the three-wheeled rickshaws of Asia, Tuk Tuk will set Glasgow city centre alight with the colours, sounds and smells reminiscent of modern India.
Inspired by the fresh, rustic food served at the roadside and railway stations across India to travellers, school children, rickshaw-wallahs and busy office workers Tuk Tuk has revamped its menu especially for the Glasgow launch. New and exciting additions to the menu include Puri yoghurt bombs and a range of popular Indian drinks such as Mint mambo and Lassis in flavours such as mango, coconut, lychee, sweet or salted. Of course, the restaurant will still be serving up its much loved street food classics; Bhel puri, Biryani and Daal makhni. The restaurant is also BYOB and will offer takeaway and a delivery service.
Tuk Tuk has been designed with the help of Edinburgh based interior design agency Four-By-Two who have created a bright, modern and clean space with timber accents. Throughout are hints of the distinctive “Tuk Tuk orange” enhanced by an array of Indian matka cup lighting. To complement the modern furnishings, artists Conzo Throb and Ciaran Glöbel have designed eye catching Indian inspired murals to adorn the walls of the Sauchiehell Street restaurant.
